Class From the Get-Go Fashion
Met Gary Gissler on Laguardia Place yesterday. His sophisticated and rather cool New York exterior came through from across the street. Gary was wearing an h+m linen jacket and varvatos linen shirt, japanese denim from the gap and vintage wingtips from a flea market. Assorted jewelry from his travels and NY street vendors. Gary has started a new campaign creating the "I heart Bill Cunningham" shirts which were inspired by the film "Bill Cunningham, New York." For more info" Iheartbillcunningham@gmail.com Gary is also in charge of this super cool project called Bowery Trucks, where him and his crew get vintage trucks and parked all over the New York City. For more information check out his website BoweryTrucks.Com
"I'm an artist with a studio practice and a psychoanalyst in private practice, as well as being engaged in several other projects: Gary Gissler Interiors does residential design and building, and then my business parter Jonas Bradford and I own BOWERY TRUCKS - importing vintage pick-up trucks and selling them in the city. We also have a small fashion interest that produced the Bill Cunningham t-shirts (on sale during fashion week) and we are currently developing a boutique hotel in Europe."
"I ride my champion of an old english bike everywhere, everyday, all year long; it allows me to get around and attend to my days... You caught me coming from Tribeca where I am completing a loft duplex, after a breakfast meeting with Jonas at Cafe Gitane in Nolita and on my way back to my office in union square to see patients.... My fashion choices need to be diverse enough to showcase a '71 Ford F100 long-bed, manage the steel staircase installation on the job site and land back in my office to treat my patients. I try to keep it simple. And I just love my life...
