Curl Crave
"Everything You Need to Know About What This CURLY head CRAVES"
Hello my fine looking men and women, WELCOME BACK! Today I want to talk about television. I know some of you think television is an insidious beast, "a medusa that freezes a billion people to stone every night", well if that is how you feel I'm sorry, I'm still going to talk about TV! It's Fall and that means the TV shows we die for are back! I know that I can't wait to snuggle with my teddy bear and a bag of skittles and sing and cry over GLEE and get dressed up and DROOL over my number one obsession Gossip Girl. There are SO many NEW shows coming out though and I want to tell you all about them. I also want to look back into the past and tell you what TV shows to look at for style inspiration.
Let's start by looking at TV shows from back in the day that are helping me figure out what to wear in the morning:
1. Charlie's Angels (1976-1981):
Get your butts to the thrift store and start looking for the wide-leg pants, jumpsuits, leather vests, suede suits, and platform shoes. These ladies had a cool, fresh look, so bring it back! I can't decide whether the three angels were innocent or sassy and I love that! Kicking butt and looking incredibly hot while doing it is what Charlie's Angels were all about...so don't be afraid to slap a fool if they disrespect.
2. Designing Women (1986-1993):
I'm all about the 80s. If you know me then you know I love my shoulder pads!!! The Designing Women chicks were at the forefront of fashion in the 80s. The ladies were extremely fashion savvy in their vibrant poly-blends and contoured cheeks. The group's color-bright clothes and high-volume hair were and are still to die for so definitely look at these ladies for inspiration.
3. Beverly Hills 90210(1990-2000): I love this show even now. It is the perfect "what to wear" show and it also gives me a dose of drama when I need to get out of my head. To get their look get a pair of acid wash jeans ..make sure they're high wasted with your top tucked in and belt showing! Make sure you have a pair of Reebok trainers!! Scrunchies are a must and anything that is vintage Gap will do!
4. My So-Called Life (1994-1995) Everyone is always gushing over Angela...but NOT TODAY. Move over, because Rickie Vasquez is so much more of a style inspiration! Rickie was SO fearless! I loved how he would rock one earring and I've totally stolen that look from him! I loved how Rickie would play with mixing bold patterns with one another and I LOVED how many jackets he had! A range of different blazers and tweed coats, I must not forget that he would accessorize them too! He must have had over 100 jackets for one episode! AHH LOVE HIM!
NOW.... I fucking wish we still had shows like these on today..but we don't, so here is a preview to what shows are COMING OUT this Fall.
APARTMENT 23: The series revolves around the lives of two different women -- a barista who lost a high-profile upscale job and a savvy street smart con artist -- who are roommates in a New York City apartment, with elements of The Odd Couple thrown in for good measure. Actor James Van Der Beek, who plays a fictional version of himself, plays a strong supporting role. (STRAIGHT COPIED AND PASTED FROM WIKIPEDIA)
THE LYING GAME: this show is a combination of The Parent Trap and 90210 so it's going to be so GOOD! Check it out Mondays @ 8pm on ABC Family!
PAN AM: if you live in NYC... you have seen posterS for this show fuggin everywhere!!! It is centered around the iconic airline Pan American World Airways during the 1960s. The fashion is going to be to die for and Christina Ricci is the lead chick and she RULES.

REVENGE: Emily VanCamp stars as a psycho who moves to the Hamptons to get "revenge". The show has already started and it is super creepy. I love sick and twisted soap operas so this is going to be perfect. Watch it on ABC on Wednesdays at 10pm.
Suburgatory: A teenage girl moves from the city to the suburbs because her dad finds a box of condoms in her room. May be good. May be really really bad. I don't want to promise anything though!
The Playboy Club: Set in 1963, the series centers around the employees (known as Bunnies) of the first Playboy Club in Chicago. Who doesn't want to watch half naked women walking around on TV??? I'll watch this show on mute.
That is all for today!! Come back next week and if you haven't already BOOKMARK US, FOLLOW US, ADD US ON FACEBOOK, ETC. Get with it!!!!!!
We are also running and amazing contest right now where you can win a 50$ gift certificate to American Apparel and a photoshoot with me and my fabulous boyfriend and photographer Shervin Nassi...check out the banner bellow to find out more
